Roman Rotenberg speaks after beating Admiral in Sochi

HC SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg:
- I want to thank the fans for their great support. We are enjoying playing again, thank you to our opponents. It was a physical game, I am grateful to the guys for sticking to our plan. We continue working.
- All eight goals were scored at equal strength. Do SKA need to improve on the powerplay?
- We need to work on all aspects and details of the game. The players have engaged in a lot of hard work here in Sochi, we were lacking a bit of concentration when competing on the powerplay. Nevertheless, we have time to continue improving. We will play another game here and then a further three friendly matches in Saint Petersburg against Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg and Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod.
- You said that it was a physical match, but the scoreline doesn't suggest that.
- We know their coach Leonid Tambiev well, he always wants his teams to compete in a physical manner. When we played against Admiral in Vladivostok in late December, it was the same story. Today, there was a hard hit against Igor Ozhiganov and a check to the head. I was pleased with the tempo of our performance, this is what we want to see.
- SKA looked fresher than Admiral. Was this because you had a extra day's rest?
- Of course, it's important to recover. When playing against Sochi, we had to use a lot of energy and strength to complete the comeback. We had an advantage today as a consequence of having a day off.
- When leading 6:0, did you have to find special words in order to keep your players motivated?
- We are working hard at the moment, so we asked the players to maintain concentration for the third period. We wanted to focus on the details which we have been improving during our three micro training cycles.
