Roman Rotenberg and Alexander Volkov speak after beating Dinamo Minsk away from home

HC SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg:
- We had to work really hard in order to win. It was a great series, the opponents regularly changed their approach and displayed different tactical schemes. In terms of the future, this was a useful series for us. We will now have a short rest before subsequently preparing for the next round of the competition.
- Dinamo Minsk appeared to be the better team in the first period.
- They had their backs up against the wall for this game, so they tried to compete at a really fast tempo. We had to change the flow of the match. The guys did a great job, they followed the game plan and our tactical changes. It's difficult against every opponent in the playoffs.
- Why did SKA take a series of penalties in the attacking zone today?
- Our players always try their best. Maybe, the emotions got the better of them at times. It's also worth noting that the hosts had loud support inside the arena.
- Which game in this series was the toughest for SKA?
- All of the games were different and difficult. We have to give credit to the opponents and their coaches, they continued to make tactical changes throughout the series. We had to work really hard.
- Spartak Moscow are your next opponents. Will you have an advantage considering that they haven't even played a game in these playoffs as yet?
- We will soon see. We haven't thought about Spartak yet, we've been focused on this current series. We'll soon begin analysing Spartak. I want to congratulate everyone with International Women's Day, hopefully this victory is a nice present for you all.
HC SKA forward Alexander Volkov:
- Just like all previous matches in this series, it was a tough game. The opponents scored on the powerplay, but we also did well when playing on the man advantage. We held on and emerged victorious.
- What was the turning point?
- Our third goal which allowed us to take a 3:2 lead. Taking into account that we had been forced into equalising a couple of times before that, it was a vital moment.
- Dinamo scored twice on the powerplay. What was lacking for SKA shorthanded in this match?
- They had changed their approach on the powerplay a bit, blocking our goalkeeper's view and shooting more.
- Spartak qualified for the second round of the KHL Gagarin Cup playoffs without playing a single game. How will this affect the series?
- We are only focused on our own game. The main thing now is to rest, be with our families and prepare for our upcoming matches.
- SKA took a lot of penalties in the attacking zone.
- We have to be more careful with our sticks. It was a tense battle out there.
