Roman Rotenberg speaks after game two against Dynamo

HC SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg:

"The fans created a fantastic atmosphere inside the stadium. Two strong teams competed against each other, not committing any mistakes across practically four periods. I have no issues with my team, the guys are displaying character and fight. We have to find a way to beat their defence, because one goal isn't enough. It's possible that Alexander Nikishin and Sergei Plotnikov will be healthy enough to play in game three on Monday, a match which we have to win."

On SKA's large faceoff advantage which isn't resulting in goals...

"We have to stop making one too many passes. Dynamo are trying to break our play up, so we have to be more direct instead of always looking for the extra pass to score into the empty net. You saw what happened for yourselves. We have to shoot more often, search for the rebounds, pounce on the loose pucks and play modern ice hockey. If we do that, we'll be fine."

Facing a 0-2 series deficit...

"This isn't the first time when we've been in this situation. We now have to win the next game, take it step-by-step. We're focusing on each individual match instead of the series as a whole. Thankfully, we have the opportunity to strengthen our team ahead of our home matches. We have to stop making extra passes and shoot more."

Nikita Gusev's productive form against SKA...

"If we look at the OT goal, then it was down to Jordan Weal who was blocking Yegor Zavragin's view. All we needed to do was move Weal out of the way! He isn't even that tall. Had our goalkeeper seen the puck travelling towards him, he would have saved it. We have to improve the small details."
