Roman Rotenberg speaks after playing Admiral in Vladivostok

HC SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg:
"First of all, I want to note the fantastic atmosphere here in Vladivostok. Both sets of fans provided the teams with excellent support, it was a warm atmosphere and we really enjoyed playing in it.
"In terms of the game, then instead of following the game plan, some of our players competed in an individual manner and didn't play for the benefit of the team. This shouldn't be happening. Unfortunately, this is the reason why we lost. We were prepared for Admiral, we know that they're strong at home here in Vladivostok and we were aware of their strengths. From our point of view, we should have converted our chances in the first period.
"We subsequently took too many penalties in the second stanza. Overall, I think that a draw after regulation and overtime is a fair reflection of how the game turned out. I would like to thank our guys on the PK for their efforts, they gave their all and blocked plenty of pucks. Young defenseman Arseniy Koromyslov did well for us, this was his first match since returning and we have to take into account that Tolyatti use a completely different system to ours. We will improve our team discipline for our next game on Saturday.
"Some of our players have remained in Saint Petersburg in order to recover from their respective injuries. Do we have a fine system in place with regard to unnecessary penalties? Yes, we do. It's vital that our players always think of the team instead of playing in an individual manner.
"I like the fact that Admiral use a small rink here, it makes the game more dynamic. You have to play with physicality and win the battles across the ice. Luck deserted us in the closing stages when we had the opportunities to win? You have to deserve luck! Admiral were better than us in the shootout."
