Ivanov, Lutfullin edge SKA past Avangard!

SKA made it three wins on the bounce in the 2025/2026 KHL regular season edging to a tense 1:0 victory against Avangard Omsk on the road!

Under pressure for much of the 60 minutes, our team had to rely on flawless goalkeeping from the impressive Sergei Ivanov, who stopped all 43 (!) shots which he faced to earn his maiden shutout of the campaign.

Ivanov wasn't the only young SKA hero either.

20-year-old Ignat Lutfullin was the sole player to score for either team, whipping Nikita Nedopyokin's clever pass home from the doorstep to tally his first in the KHL!

That goal arrived in the concluding stages of the opening frame.

The remainder of the game largely saw Avangard pile on the pressure. SKA did have their chances too, though, with Andrei Pedan smashing the right post on the powerplay and Matvei Polyakov three times being denied by familiar face Nikita Serebryakov when clean through!

Avangard really did throw the kitchen sink at SKA in the third stanza. However, with Ivanov pulling off several highlight-reel saves and our players displayed admirable commitment by blocking a grand total of 28 shots, SKA held on for dear life!

SKA will now prepare to face Salavat Yulaev in Ufa on Wednesday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 17:00 Moscow time.
