Dinamo Minsk - SKA. Before the match

25 September 2021

Today, at 17:30 local time, SKA will begin the next away series of the 2021/2022 KHL regular season against Dinamo Minsk in Belarus.

So far, Dinamo Minsk have lacked stability on the ice, earning four victories and four defeats in their eight matches. Nevertheless, Canadian coach Craig Woodcroft certainly has a strong squad at his disposal, especially with former SKA defenseman Lukas Bengtsson (1+5) and forward Malte Stromwall (3+3) in excellent form for the Belarusians.

Young 19-year-old goaltender Alexei Kolosov (92.15%, 2.52) has been particularly impressive for Minsk, even tallying a wonderful 31-save shutout against Traktor in Chelyabinsk last week. In their most recent road trip, Dinamo did beat Traktor while conceding two losses to Salavat Yulaev Ufa (0:1) and Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg (3:7).

SKA are coming off the back of a flat 2:4 home defeat to Salavat Yulaev on Friday. Nevertheless, before that result, our players had beaten Spartak Moscow (away, 2:0), Sochi (away, 2:0) and Amur Khabarovsk (home, 5:1) in consecutive games. Forwards Anton Burdasov (6+5) and Andrei Kuzmenko (1+10) are currently our top scorers with 11 points each.

Last season, these two teams met in the first round of the 2020/2021 Gagarin Cup playoffs, with SKA emerging victorious by a score of 4-1 in what turned out to be a dramatic series.

Puck-drop is scheduled for 17:30 local time in Minsk, Belarus. KHL TV and Channel 78 will provide a television broadcast in Russia, whereas you can watch a live video on the KHL's official website worldwide. Text updates will be provided on our Twitter account.
