Lada - SKA

Lada - SKA - 1:3

7 September 2024

SKA got their 2024/2025 KHL campaign off and running in Tolyatti, calmly seeing off hosts Lada by a score of 3:1.

Mikhail Vorobyov quickly opened the scoring in the seventh minute of play, bundling the puck in during a goalmouth scramble.

Just like in the preceding game against Magnitogorsk, 18-year-old forward Ivan Demidov was a livewire for SKA, causing problems for the opposing defence with his silky skills and notably smacking the right post with a fierce drive from distance.

Our second goal eventually arrived in the 29th minute, as Arseniy Gritsyuk turned the loose puck over the line with home goaltender Vladislav Podyapolsky already beaten all ends up.

SKA were in full control. Following a lengthy spell of pressure, Lada halved our advantage in the penultimate minute of the third frame on the powerplay as Anthony Greco's pass was inadvertently turned past Artemiy Pleshkov by Stepan Falkovsky, but Marat Khairullin subsequently iced it with an empty-netter.

Our next match will take place against Lokomotiv in Yaroslavl on Monday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 19:30 local time.
