Jokerit - SKA

Jokerit - SKA - 2:6

6 October 2018

In a stunning display, SKA tore apart HC Jokerit in Helsinki, knocking six past the Finnish hosts to claim an emphatic 6:2 triumph at the Hartwall Arena in the 2018/2019 KHL regular season.

Incredibly, the Saint Petersburg scored in the very first shift, as Alexander Dergachyov stuffed the puck between Ryan Zapolski's pads from the doorstep. Starting the match completely on the front foot, SKA soon doubled the advantage, as Alexei Kruchinin caught the goalkeeper sleeping when taking aim on the left wing.

It was the second period where SKA really turned the screw. Birthday boy Nail Yakupov gifted himself a perfect present with two clever goals, while Swedish defenseman Patrik Hersley launched an unstoppable slapper past the flailing Ryan Zapolski. To their credit, Jokerit refused to throw the towel in, getting one back with Marko Anttila scoring.

Sami Lepisto then made it a three-goal game in the final frame, but SKA soon ended all hope of a shock comeback with Patrik Hersley notching his second marker. 6:2, SKA thrash Jokerit in Helsinki!
