Dinamo Minsk - SKA

Dinamo Minsk - SKA - 4:2

4 October 2023

In an entertaining duel, SKA were made to pay for a poor third period against Dinamo Minsk on the road in the 2023/2024 KHL regular season, conceding a 2:4 loss.

SKA initially opened up a confident two-goal lead in the first period through Vladimir Alistrov's wraparound and a thunderbolt from Alex Galchenyuk on the powerplay.

However, the game subsequently turned on its head in the second stanza.

Roman Gorbunov halved our advantage on the powerplay with an unstoppable wrister, before Vitaly Pinchuk got the better of Artemiy Pleshkov from the left flank on the counter-attack. At the opposite end, Alexei Kolosov was a busy man for Minsk, as he was forced into a number of challenging saves.

Our players continued to compete with the initiative in the third period, but a flurry of late errors resulted in the negative result.

Unmarked on the right flank, Ioannis Kaldis hit the jackpot with a little under eight minutes remaining. In the closing moments, SKA subsequently shot themselves with two penalties in one play from Zakhar Bardakov and Nikita Kamalov, and Dinamo promptly used their consequent 5-on-3 powerplay with Gorbunov netting.

SKA will now prepare to face CSKA in Moscow on Friday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 19:00 local time.
