Barys - SKA - 3:0

In Kazakhstan, SKA couldn't find a way through Barys, conceding a 0:3 defeat on the road in the 2021/2022 KHL regular season.

Matthew Frattin and Nikita Mikhailis gave Barys a 2:0 advantage in the first period with two practically identical powerplay goals, beating 19-year-old SKA goaltender Yaroslav Askarov with snappy attempts.

Following that setback, SKA spent the majority of the remaining 40 minutes probing for a way back into proceedings, but home goalkeeper Joni Ortio stopped all 24 shots he faced.

In the concluding minutes, our management group pulled Askarov in favour of the extra skater, a move which only resulted in the home team tallying an empty-netter.

SKA will now prepare to face Salavat Yulaev in Ufa, Bashkortostan on Sunday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 14:30 Moscow time.
