Back to winning ways at Barys!

13 February 2025

SKA eased past Barys on the road in Astana, claiming a confident 5:2 triumph to successful get back to winning ways in the 2024/2025 KHL regular season.

Barys initially took the lead in the 12th minute following a defensive misunderstanding between Yegor Zavragin and the skaters in front of him. Nevertheless, SKA quickly got back on track, equalising through Mikhail Vorobyov before Sergei Sapego converted when receiving a trademark stunning pass from Ivan Demidov.

Mikhail Grigorenko elegantly doubled our advantage in the early stages of the second stanza, brilliantly redirecting Marat Khairullin’s attempt beyond the Kazakh goaltender.

The hosts did get back to within one with a PP marker in the fourth minute of the third period. However, our players weren’t to be denied, as two fantastic passing plays were completed by Khairullin and Grigory Kuzmin respectively.

SKA will now prepare to face Neftekhimik in Nizhnekamsk on Saturday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 17:00 local time.
