Amur - SKA - 0:2

In Khabarovsk, SKA achieved the second consecutive win of this 2018/2019 KHL Far Eastern away series, defeating HC Amur 2:0 with two late third period goals.
For the majority of proceedings, Amur managed to keep SKA at bay with some wonderful goalkeeping from Marek Langhamer, but our players eventually broke the stubborn opponents down after registering a huge 47 shots on target. In stark comparison, Amur only tested Igor Shestyorkin on 15 occasions.
Nevertheless, Igor Shestyorkin had to be on his game in the first period, pulling off an incredible stick save at point blank range to deny Tomas Zahorna. Moments before, Amur had struck the left post, and throughout the opening frame the hosts caused moments of panic when skating on the counterattack.
SKA gradually increased the tempo in the second stanza. Our team spent practically the entire period inside the opposing zone, but despite creating several glorious chances, Amur stood firm with goalkeeper Marek Langhamer refusing to be beaten. Nikita Gusev, Alexander Barabanov and Pavel Datsyuk all should have score from the doorstep, however the goaltender thought otherwise.
Finally, SKA broke through after 47 minutes of play, as Nail Yakupov converted on the powerplay with a snappy one timer. As time rolled on, Amur rapidly lost their discipline, and their tiring play resulted in Artyom Zemchyonok doubling the advantage with 13 seconds remaining to avoid any nervy finish to the match. 2:0, SKA triumph against HC Amur Khabarovsk!
