Ak Bars - SKA

Ak Bars - SKA - 2:4

14 November 2023

On the road, SKA managed to outlast Ak Bars Kazan in the 2023/2024 KHL regular season, earning a thrilling 4:2 triumph.

Following a goalless opening frame, the game well and truly burst into life in the second.

Vasily Glotov and Marat Khairullin quickly opened up a two-goal lead for SKA. However, Ak Bars were back on level terms before the 31st minute, as Artyom Lukoyanov's effort was deflected past Nikita Serebryakov and Artyom Galimov hit the jackpot from a tight angle on the left flank.

The third period was predictably a tight, tense affair. Nevertheless, with around five minutes remaining, SKA struck a killer blow.

Once again Glotov was the hero for our team, as he brilliantly powered his way to Artur Akhtyamov's net from deep and scored at the second time of asking.

Moments later, our win was practically sealed on the powerplay, with Valentin Zykov forcing the puck in at close range.

SKA will now prepare to face Severstal in Cherepovets on Thursday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 19:00 local time.
