Five-star Goldobin slays the Dragons!

Five-star Goldobin slays the Dragons!

15 September 2026

Nikolai Goldobin stole the show against the Shanghai Dragons on Tuesday evening, registering five points to help SKA earn an emphatic 7:2 home triumph!

The Chinese opponents simply had no answer to the forward's magic, with the gifted 30-year-old dishing out four clever assists and scoring an excellent goal of his own.

Scott Wilson got the party started in the seventh minute when bundling the puck in at close range, before Sergei Plotnikov doubled our advantage with a strong shot on the counter seven minutes later.

A rampant SKA subsequently put the game to bed in the second stanza.

Wilson made it three in just the second minute of the period, calmly giving a flowing passing play the finishing touch. Sergei Sapego then netted a similar marker after escaping the attentions of the somewhat disorganised Shanghai back line.

The pick of the lot was fittingly scored by the impressive Goldobin.

When displaying scintillating skill to dart between the Shanghai defence, Goldobin smartly cut to a shooting position and lashed beyond frustrated goalkeeper Amir Miftakhov.

Stepan Khripunov did get Shanghai on the board with a clattering one-timer in the penultimate minute of the frame.

Nonetheless, SKA were already over the hills and far away, and the thrashing was completed by Nikolai Chebykin and Danil Aimurzin in the ensuing third period - with their goals sandwiched by an effort from familiar face Dmitrij Jaskin.

SKA will now prepare to face Traktor in Chelyabinsk on 25 September. Puck-drop is scheduled for 17:00 Moscow time.
