Friday night delight against Severstal!

13 March 2026

SKA made short work of high-flying Severstal on Friday evening, coasting to an emphatic 5:0 triumph at the Ice Palace!

Despite occupying second place of the Western Conference, Severstal were outplayed throughout in Saint Petersburg, with our players cooly converting the opportunities which fell their way.

Rocco Grimaldi got the party started in the 13th minute, lashing home after receiving an intelligent feed from young defenseman Yegor Zelenov.

SKA subsequently sealed the deal with three goals in the space of as many minutes in the second stanza.

Markus Phillips doubled our money when clean through having exited the penalty box, before Marat Khairullin whipped beyond the goalkeeper with feeling after stealing possession and Scott Wilson neatly tipped in.

The forlorn Konstantin Shostak was indeed replaced by Vsevolod Skotnikov following Wilson's effort.

With the game done as a contest, the tempo did drop somewhat. Nevertheless, SKA did sign off with a fifth in the closing stages of the third period, as Khairullin expertly turned the loose puck in after Matvei Korotky had struck the pipe.

SKA will now prepare to face Traktor in Chelyabinsk on Monday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 17:00 Moscow time.
