Plotnikov, Goldobin too hot for Barys to handle!

2 March 2026

Sergei Plotnikov tallied a hat-trick and Nikolai Goldobin dished out four assists on Monday evening, as SKA breezed past Barys Astana by an emphatic score of 7:0 at the Ice Palace!

Following an initial slow start, SKA blew their Kazakh visitors away with ease, scoring goals at will and securing a valuable pair of points with next to no trouble – aided by a solid 18-save shutout from Artemiy Pleshkov.

Mikhail Vorobyov opened the scoring midway through the maiden stanza, neatly backhanding home having been completely ignored by the non-existent Barys defence.

Plotnikov then quickly doubled our lead, whacking a firm one-timer past the forlorn Andrei Shutov to give a flowing passing play the perfect finish.

SKA ended the game as a contest in the second stanza.

Yegor Savikov put clean daylight between the teams, finishing a broken play from the left circle to send Shutov to the bench in favour of Adam Scheel.

Nevertheless, the goalkeeping change had no effect on the flow of play, as Plotnikov grabbed his second with another instant effort and Matvei Polyakov bundled the loose puck over the line at point-blank range.

Plotnikov secured his well-deserved hat-trick in the 52nd minute, whipping home past Scheel when receiving another gorgeous pass from the impressive Goldobin.

Matvei Korotky then rounded off proceedings with a ruthless finish on the counter-attack.

SKA will now prepare to face Dinamo in Minsk on Thursday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 19:30 local time.
