Salavat put to the sword in Saint Petersburg!

16 February 2026

In-form SKA made it five wins on the spin this evening, emphatically defeating Salavat Yulaev 4:0 at the Ice Palace!

Dominant throughout, SKA made short work of a strong Salavat side at home, never looking back after taking the lead early on and helping 21-year-old goalkeeper Sergei Ivanov tally his second shutout of the campaign.

We didn’t have to wait long for the breakthrough to be made.

When taking aim from distance in the third minute of play, Andrei Pedan arrowed his effort beyond the unsighted Semyon Vyazovoi.

It was another defenseman who doubled our money in the 16th minute.

Having skated into space in impressive fashion, Yegor Zelenov gave a flowing counter-attack the perfect finish to score his second KHL goal.

With their backs to the wall, Ufa predictably probed and pressed as they searched for a way back into the game, but Ivanov stopped all 14 shots he faced – and that was despite the fact that the visitors took three penalties in the frame.

To our delight, our powerplay did eventually click in the third frame with two slick goals.

Nikolai Goldobin thumped in from the right circle when completing another aesthetically pleasing play, before Marat Khairullin whacked an unstoppable one-timer past Vyazovoi while competing on a 5-on-3 advantage.

SKA will now prepare to host Severstal Cherepovets on Wednesday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 19:30 local time.
