Withour team he won the KHL Gagarin Cup, a Russian championship silver and bronze medal, the Continental Cup and became the 2012/2013 playoffs top scorer. He also became a 2014 world champion with the Russian national team, and was the tournament's best forward. A silver medal followed in 2015.

SKA Hockey Club thanks Viktor for the time spent with the club, and wishes him luck with his new team!

SKA vice-president Roman Rotenberg:

- Viktor is one of those players who has been with SKA over these past few years, and he made a huge contribution to winning the Gagarin Cup. He has never hidden the fact that he wants to play abroad however, and no one in the club can say that he didn't give his all for SKA. Viktor always gave everything on the ice, and helped to create an atmosphere in the dressing room which fitted the SKA family image. I think that Chicago haven't made a mistake in signing such a player and person. Gennady Timchenko and all of SKA thank Viktor for all of the years with SKA, and wish him lots of luck.
