Torpedo - SKA. Match day

20 January 2015

SKA will play their third match of this particular away series in Nizhny Novgorod, against Torpedo. This will be the second meeting between these two teams this season, with SKA having already come out on top 5:2 in Saint Petersburg just eleven days ago.

Torpedo are going through a horrible run of form, having lost their previous six games in a row, picking up only one point along the way. As a result they have fallen to ninth in the Western Conference with 63 points, and face an uphill struggle if they are to qualify for the play-offs. This will be their second game in this home series after losing to Dinamo Riga 3:4 on penalty shots on Sunday, as they let a two goal slip to eventually go down. Forward Sakari Salminen is their top scorer with 36 points (15+21), with Pole Wojtech Wolski hot on his heels with 35 (20+15).

Our team have been having a brilliant 2015 so far, winning six games out of six, and in turn cutting the gap at the top of the table with CSKA Moscow to 5 points. The previous victory came in Cherepovets, as a late Roman Cervenka goal propelled SKA to a 4:2 triumph. Nizhny Novgorod is usually a very tough place for SKA though, with the team not winning there since 2009.

The Torpedo - SKA match will begin at 19.00 Moscow time inside the Nagorny stadium. 100 TV will broadcast the game live, whereas you can keep up to date with events by following either our matchcentre, or our twitter account.
