The refereeing in the CSKA - SKA series

6 April 2015

During this KHL Gagarin Cup Western Conference final series between HC CSKA Moscow and SKA, there have been many questions risen about the standard of refereeing. In line with SKA Hockey Club's own policies, the club has requested the KHL to look over two aspects: firstly to give a rating of how the officials are performing, and secondly to provide methodical help to the league in order to improve the quality of refereeing in general. SKA's series opponents have also requested the same things.

Having looked over all of these issues, the KHL's refereeing department have found that 35% of calls made in CSKA's favour were mistakes (35% of the issues that SKA had complained about to the KHL). On the other hand, only 13% of CSKA's complaints were found to be refereeing mistakes.
