SKA - CSKA. Match facts

SKA have become the first KHL club to score 1500 goals across 440 matches in KHL regular seasons. The 1500th marker was forward Kirill Marchenko's winning penalty shot.

This is the first time when SKA have defeated CSKA at home in a penalty shootout in the KHL. In the 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 campaigns, the Muscovites had managed to emerge victorious in the shootout. Interestingly, on the three occasions in which CSKA and SKA have gone to penalties in Moscow, our team have always won.

Forward Vladimir Tkachyov now boasts 200 (69+131) points in 281 KHL appearances. 79 (26+53) of them have been tallied in 93 SKA games. Furthermore, Vladimir also set a new personal best in this match against CSKA Moscow, registering at least a point in the sixth consecutive game.

For the first time, SKA conceded a goal with Oscar Fantenberg on the ice. Since joining our team, Oscar has participated in 16 matches in the KHL, not conceding a single goal until yesterday's game. Not conceding in his first 16 games as a SKA player is a new club record.

CSKA's Mat Robinson has now dished out 12 assists against SKA, more than any other defenseman in the KHL. Those particular assists have been earned for Dynamo Moscow (seven) and CSKA (five).

CSKA forward Nikita Soshnikov is the first KHL player to score against SKA at the Ice Palace for two separate teams in one single regular season. Previously, on November 16, he hit the target when representing Salavat Yulaev Ufa. Overall, Nikita has scored eight goals against SKA for three different teams (three for Atlant Mytishchi, four times for Salavat Yulaev and once for CSKA).

Last year, goalkeepers Alexander Samonov and Alexander Sharychenkov also faced each other in a penalty shootout, with the latter helping Neftekhimik to win by stopping all five shots.
