Hockey Classic. SKA - CSKA. Press-conference

22 December 2018

HC SKA head coach Ilya Vorobyov:

- Congratulations to CSKA for their victory. Thank you to the organisers of the event. When you lose so many duels on the ice, it’s hard to win.

- Four matches against CSKA Moscow and four losses. Is this a coincidence?

- We had opportunities in all of the matches, including this one. CSKA have an excellent defence, all you have to do is look at the 2018/2019 KHL regular standings.

- Did the team stick to the game plan?

- We’ll look into what happened within the group. If we could have scored a goal earlier, the match could have turned out differently. There were a few odd man rushes.

HC CSKA Moscow head coach Igor Nikitin:

- All of our players gave their all and I am satisfied with the result. The commitment and movement was there. When we made mistakes, our effort made up for them. It’s great to play in an atmosphere like this. The players did practically everything which we asked of them.

- Did you experience any special emotions inside the Gazprom Arena?

- It’s nice to play in such an atmosphere with so many supporters. I have positive emotions and the victory certainly helps that.

- Who is better at playing down the middle with Kirill Kaprizov and Mikhail Grigorenko: Maxim Shalunov, who shoots a lot, or Linden Vey?

- We look at how the players are feeling, and that includes Kirill Kaprizov and Mikhail Grigorenko. When preparing for matches, we look at which players will play against us and in which lines. Both the two mentioned players in your question are of high quality and let's see what happens in the future.
