SKA - Torpedo. Game Five

The fifth match of the KHL Gagarin Cup first round series between SKA and HC Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod will take place in Saint Petersburg today. Remember that our team lead 3:1 overall, and can finish the series with a win this evening.

Heading into the two games in Nizhny Novgorod the series was all tied up at 1:1, after SKA won the first match 6:3 before being defeated in the second 1:2. Our team really came to life away however, and took the series by the scruff of the neck. The third match was a topsy turvy affair, with Torpedo fighting back from a two goal deficit to level at 2:2. Two quickfire goals from Ilya Kovalchuk and Yevgeni Dadonov powered our team to victory though, and the fourth game went SKA's way 3:1. Yevgeni Dadonov is indeed SKA's top scorer in the series so far, with five points to his name (4+1).

Elsewhere in the Western Conference, CSKA Moscow became the first team to move into the second round by whitewashing HC Sochi 4:0. Jokerit can join them there today as they lead HC Dinamo Minsk 3:1, while Dynamo Moscow and Lokomotiv are deadlocked at 2:2.

The SKA - Torpedo match will begin at 19.30 local time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. 100 TV and KHL TV will both broadcast the game live, whereas you can keep up to date with events either by following our matchcentre, or our official twitter account.
