SKA - Sibir. Match day

The fourth match of this home series will take place today against HC Sibir Novosibirsk.

Over the past couple of years Sibir have transformed from a mid-table side into a top club, and have earned the right to call themselves one of the KHL's big hitters. The Siberians made the Eastern Conference playoff final last campaign eventually losing to Ak Bars, and for a long time this season they have been first in the table. Nevertheless they are experiencing a recent slump, and have dropped their previous two matches to Metallurg Magnitogorsk 2:6 and Jokerit Helsinki 1:2. Those results have seen them slip to fourth in their conference with 87 points, however a win would take them back up to second. Ex SKA goaltender Alexander Salak has an impressive 94.0% saves percentage, while Sergei Shumakov is their top scorer with 27 points (17+10).

SKA lost their previous outing to Amur 1:2 in overtime on Friday, but that point taken from that game has locked our team in sixth of the Western Conference. Our players have already played against Sibir once this campaign, and it ended with the Novosibirsk club winning 5:2.

The SKA - Sibir match will begin at 17.00 local time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. Life78 and KHL TV will both broadcast the game live, and you can keep up to date with events either by following our online matchcentre or our official Twitter account.
