SKA defeat Sibir with five-goal third period!

It took SKA a while to get going, but our team emerged victorious by a score of 6:3 against Sibir Novosibirsk in the 2024/2025 KHL regular season thanks to a goal-filled third period!

Evgeny Kuznetsov, Sergei Plotnikov, Mikhail Grigorenko, Arseniy Gritsyuk and Zakhar Bardakov all hit the jackpot in the concluding frame, consequently allowing SKA to tally a hard-fought win.

Sibir initially took the lead through Maxim Karpov in the eighth minute of the second stanza, but Vasily Glotov subsequently equalised with a powerful attempt on the powerplay.

The third frame then got off to the perfect start, as a superb pass from Ivan Demidov was whacked home by Kuznetsov. Plotnikov and Grigorenko then etched their names on the scoreboard from close range to give SKA breathing distance.

Taylor Beck got one back for Sibir on the counter. Nevertheless, Gritsyuk immediately reinstated our comfortable advantage after the ensuing faceoff draw, and Bardakov iced it with an empty-netter after Grigory Belousov had snatched a third for Novosibirsk.

SKA will now prepare to host Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in Saint Petersburg on Wednesday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 19:30 local time.
