SKA have acquired the rights to the use of Yury Gagarin's name

SKA Hockey Club have acquired the rights to the use of Yury Gagarin's name and image, the man who the KHL Gagarin Cup is named after. The club has now begun producing goods with his name and image on, and soon the Yury Gagarin range will appear in the Hockey Club stores ahead of the upcoming KHL season which begins on the 24th of August.
SKA vice-president Roman Rotenberg:
- We are very happy that our negotiations which have been going on for a few years have come to a conclusion. Yury Gagarin's family have been thinking over this project for three years now, and agreed to the deal after understanding that we have great respect for him. Winning the Gagarin Cup this year became a key factor, as he is now associated with us after we won the Gagarin Cup. We want to say a big thank you to Yury's daughters Galina and Elena who supported our idea.
First of all club shirts and hoodies will be available to our fans, however soon there will be an expanded collection connected with our Gagarin Cup triumph.
