SKA - Neftekhimik. Match day

SKA will complete their first home series of the 2016/2017 KHL regular season against HC Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk.

The Tatarstan outfit made life difficult for SKA last year, with our players only winning on 4:3 on penalty shots away and 2:1 OT in Saint Petersburg. Their tradition of being awkward opponents has continued into this campaign, and despite losing to Avangard, Lada and CSKA Moscow, they recently defeated Ak Bars and Severstal away. Their standout figure is goaltender Ivan Lisutin, who already has a shutout to his name as well as a 96.1% saves percentage.

During the summer, Neftekhimik closed a few clever transfer deals, and forward Dmitry Makarov and Kirill Kabanov both joined from Salavat Yulaev. Sergei Konkov also transferred from high flying Lokomotiv.

Our team got back to winning ways against Lada, and that 5:1 triumph should have reinstalled confidence. Alexander Barabanov has been the club's leading player during the past few matches, and he has scored four goals in as many games.

The SKA - Neftekhimik match will begin at 17.30 local time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. Life78 and KHL TV HD will broadcast the game live, while you can follow the events on our official Twitter account.
