SKA - Medvescak. Match day

1 February 2015

SKA will complete the opening home series of 2015 with the visit of Croatian outfit Medvescak Zagreb. This will already be the fourth and final game between these two teams this regular season, with our team winning every game so far 5:1 and 5:0 in Zagreb, and 5:2 at home.

Medvescak are battling away for a play-off spot at the bottom end of the Western Conference, and are right in the mix of things lying in 11th place with 66 points. They have been impressive of late too winning four out of their past five encounters, including a 4:1 thrashing of Jokerit in Helsinki. Forwards Pascal Pelletier and Martin St. Pierre are both tied on 33 points (13+20 and 10+23 respectively), and goalkeeper Calvin Heeter has stepped in well for the departed Barry Brust with a solid saves percentage of 91.7%.

Our team are going through a tough period at the moment, having lost the past three games in a row to Salavat Yulaev 1:3, Slovan 1:2 on penalty shots, and to Atlant 1:3. SKA are now only four points ahead of Jokerit in second place of the overall KHL table, while Artemiy Panarin is still the team's top scorer with 55 points to his name (24+31).

The SKA - Medvescak match will begin at 17.00 local time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. 100 TV will broadcast the game live, while you can keep up to date with events either by following our matchcentre, or our twitter account.
