SKA and the Saint Petersburg Boxing Federation have signed a cooperation agreement

SKA Hockey Club and the Saint Petersburg Boxing Federation have signed a cooperation agreement. The event took place on February 25 at the Hockey City complex.

The partnership is aimed at developing and popularizing physical culture and sports in the city, increasing the level of general physical fitness of children, adolescents and the general population.

The agreement also provides for cooperation in improving activities in the field of physical culture and sports, and in organising and conducting joint events, including those at Hockey City itself.

As a part of the signing of the agreement, representatives of the federation visited the Martial Arts Hall, the Medical Centre and the Development Centre at Hockey City, a complex which is the home for SKA's professional teams.

HC SKA general manager and deputy chairman of the board of directors, Roman Rotenberg:

- Duels are the key to victory in ice hockey: if you win the duels, you win the match. It is very important for us to popularize sport in Saint Petersburg and in Russia overall. I hope that people will come here and will engage in ice hockey, boxing, judo and general physical training. If young people leave the street to play sports, this will be our most important achievement. Many thanks to the Saint Petersburg Boxing Federation for supporting this project.

Harmonious personal development is what we promote and what we strive for in all our projects. If someone plays ice hockey, basketball, football or has been participating in boxing or judo since childhood, does not forget about education and then chooses to become a professional ice hockey player, he has a better chance of becoming a versatile and successful player. We hope to see even more children engaging in sporting activities here at Hockey City.

HC SKA general director Andrei Tochitsky:

- Today, we are starting our cooperation with the Saint Petersburg Boxing Federation. I would like to thank the federation, represented by Maxim Zhukov, for the opportunity to work together. In our opinion, the federation is one of the most progressive and advanced not only from a sporting point of view, but also from the position of a modern approach in terms of high-quality promotion of its product.

We have a successful journey ahead of us and, in addition to our sports, we are happy to promote a healthy lifestyle. This is what will bring us closer together.

Head of the Saint Petersburg Boxing Sporting Federation Maxim Zhukov:

- SKA is our hometown club, so it is a great honour for us to reach a new level of cooperation with the leading club of our city and Russia. Indeed, ice hockey and boxing are united by the fact that they are sports that require maximum dedication and a strong character.

I am sure that by bringing ice hockey and boxing together, athletes will benefit greatly. The leading ice hockey players in our country are setting a great example for everyone, and it's wonderful to be represented in the heart of the city's sporting life. I'm confident that we will succeed!
