SKA - Dinamo Riga. Match day

13 October 2016

The fourth match in this KHL home series will take place today against HC Dinamo Riga in Saint Petersburg.

Due to a number of in-club issues, Dinamo have endured a terrible start to the new season. Winning only four games out of eighteen, the Latvians find themselves cut off at the bottom of the table, a full seventeen points off a Gagarin Cup playoffs berth. A visit to the Ice Palace is the last thing Dinamo want, however their recent record against SKA does offer them hope. Indeed they beat SKA twice in the 2015/2016 regular season, 3:1 in Saint Petersburg and 4:2 in Riga respectively.

With only 33 goals, Dinamo are one of the lowest league scorers at the moment. Colton Gillies is their only player to reach double figures (6+4), while goaltender Jabub Sedlacek only has a 89.1 saves percentage. The Riga outfit are coming off the back of a close 3:4 loss to Severstal Cherepovets.

It couldn't be much different for SKA. Our team have beaten CSKA 2:0, Jokerit 6:0 and Dinamo Minsk 6:2 in the past three games and sit atop the Western Conference, four points clear of CSKA. Despite Igor Shestyorkin's shutout streak ending in the last game, he does hold the club record.

The SKA - Dinamo Riga match will begin at 19.30 local time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. Life78 and KHL TV HD will broadcast live, and you can follow events on our official Twitter account.
