SKA - Dinamo Riga. Match day
SKA - Dinamo Riga. Match day

SKA will play their second home match in a row in Saint Petersburg today, as Latvian club HC Dinamo Riga come to visit.
Traditionally Dinamo are one of SKA's toughest and awkward opponents in the KHL, and nearly every game goes down to the wire either in overtime or on penalty shots. Last season our team had a real tough job of it against the Latvians, taking three close dramatic wins while dropping one game in Riga. Dinamo have changed a bit since then though, and Finnish coach Kari Heikkila has replaced Artis Abols at the helm. Goaltender Joacim Eriksson arrived to take the departed Edgars Masalskis' spot, and so far he has been winning the goalkeeping duel between him and Jakub Sedlacek with a 93.2% saves percentage. The main core of the team is still dominantly Latvian, and regular danger men Miks Indrasis and Lauris Darzins have a combined 10 points so far. Their top scorer is currently new American signing Tim Siesto, as he has impressed with eight points (6+2). Overall after 14 games Dinamo lay 13th in the Western Conference with 16 points.
After a shaky start SKA have been gradually growing into the season, and are coming off the back of a successful week. After the loss to Dynamo Moscow the players came roaring back with superb 2:1 and 6:3 wins over CSKA and Jokerit respectively, and have climbed to seventh of the conference. Anton Burdasov has been in brilliant form, and has more points than anyone else in the team (17 - 8+9).
The SKA - Dinamo Riga match will begin at 19.30 local time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. 100 TV and KHL TV HD will both broadcast the game live, and you can keep up to date with events by following our official Twitter account.
