SKA - Dynamo Moscow. Press-conference

5 December 2024

HC SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg:

"We're really happy to be back playing in Saint Petersburg again. Both teams competed hard and made it a playoff-like game, but we committed the decisive mistake when the score was 2:2. Following Dynamo's disappointing defeat in Kazan on Tuesday, we knew that they were going to be fired up.

"Tony DeAngelo was back today, and Mikhail Grigorenko will return in our next match on Sunday. Zakhar Bardakov should be back soon too. Unfortunately, our discipline let us down today, the referees let us off. I'm not going to name names, but the guys have to remember that ice hockey is a team game. There were moments when our players were talking to Dynamo next to their bench, however everyone has to remember that you cannot lose concentration for a second. Yes, we had had a tough away trip in the Far East last week, but we lost this game because of our individual mistakes. It's unacceptable to put your interests higher than the team's, this must not happen again. The referees should have given us more penalties.

"Yegor Zavragin is out with injury at the moment, but Pavel Moisevich is doing brilliantly in his place. Zavragin and Moisevich will take it in turns to play when the former returns. Borna Rendulic played for the first time in two months? He played because Valentin Zykov wasn't available. We will now focus on hosting Astana on Sunday ahead of the international break."

HC SKA defenseman Tony DeAngelo:

"It's obvious that this wasn't our best game. The match could have gone either way when the score was 2:2 in the third frame. We need to improve and take our game to the next level. Why didn't I play for a while? I don't want to reveal the reasons, it was just a small injury. I should have played better today."

HC SKA forward Vasily Glotov:

"First of all, I would like to thank the fans for their fantastic support. Level at 2:2, we should have continued applying pressure in order to break through and score the crucial goal."

HC Dynamo Moscow head coach Alexei Kudashov:

"The fans enjoyed the game, it had just about everything. We were patient in defence when required and also applied plenty of pressure on SKA. Nikita Gusev's pass for our first goal? It's wonderful that the KHL has guys like Gusev and Evgeny Kuznetsov playing in it, they're true masters of the game."
