SKA - Dinamo Minsk. Press-conference

22 January 2024

HC SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg:

- As we had explained to our guys beforehand, Dinamo Minsk turned up like a wounded animal. The opponents competed hard, blocked pucks and protected their goalkeeper Alexei Kolosov who was also excellent. I don't want to go into detail publically, but there are details which require improvement. The two goals which we conceded were scored because of our individual mistakes. Nevertheless, our team showed character to equalise and consequently earn a hard-fought point. We've already qualified for the Gagarin Cup playoffs? Our task for the KHL regular season to win the Continental Cup.

HC Dinamo Minsk head coach Dmitry Kvartlanov:

- Even though there weren't many goals, I think that it was an interesting game. The key moment was when we prevented SKA from scoring during their four-minute powerplay in the third period. Why didn't Ioannis Kaldis play? He's currently injured. When playing against SKA, it's absolutely crucial not to lose out in terms of speed. If you allow SKA to play faster than you, they'll create a lot of problems for you. I liked how our goaltender played, he kept us in the match. Our penalties? Some were taken because of our ill-discipline, while others occurred because of SKA's energy and pressing.

HC SKA forward Vasily Glotov:

- Minsk are a really strong team in defence, they block a lot of pucks. We didn't tally a lot of shots during the maiden two periods as a consequence of their committed play, they blocked the puck before it could reach their goalkeeper. Another factor was that we weren't clinical enough in front of goal. Their OT winner? We should have blocked the passing lane.
