SKA - Atlant. Match day

SKA will continue this three match long home series with the visit of Atlant Mytishchi. This will be the third game between these two teams this season, with SKA having mixed fortunes so far. Our team won in Saint Petersburg in a 5:4 thriller, before then going down in Mytishchi 3:4 in a match which broke SKA's 12 match winning run.

Atlant are in the mix of a play-off dog fight in the Western Conference, as they occupy 12th place on 63 points - only five away from eighth placed HC Sochi. They haven't been in overly bad form either lately, defeating Slovan 5:4, Medvescak 3:2 and Vityaz 3:1, while falling to Lokomotiv 1:4 and Dinamo Riga 1:3. Russian forward Sergey Shmelyov is their overall top scorer with 30 points to his name (8+22), with goaltender Atte Engren holding a 91.2% saves percentage.

Our team are going through a strange run of form, as having started the year with eight straight wins two defeats have now come against Salavat Yulaev Ufa away 1:3, and to Slovan 1:2 on penalty shots at home. The gap between SKA and CSKA Moscow in first place has grown to five points, with the Muscovites having two games in hand.

The SKA - Atlant match will begin at 19.30 local time in the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. 100 TV and KHL TV HD will both broadcast the game live, while you can keep up to date with events by following either our matchcentre, or our twitter account.
