SKA - Ak Bars. Match day

Today on the 30th of August, SKA will play their third 2016/2017 KHL home match in a row against HC Ak Bars Kazan.

Ak Bars will always be remembered as SKA's 2015 Gagarin Cup final opponents, however times have changed for the Tatarstan outfit. Last season, Ak Bars went out in the playoffs' first round, and they have been struggling early on this season. Two straight losses to Neftekhimik and HC Medvescak Zagreb at home have put the pressure on, and they will have to put in a better performance to have any chance of taking points away from Saint Petersburg. Defenseman Ahte Ohtamaa and forward Justin Azevedo are their only real notable names.

Our team defeated Metallurg Magnitogorsk 4:2 in a thrilling match on Saturday, and will be coming into this game on a high. Alexander Barabanov was fantastic in that fixture, scoring two late third period goals to take all the spoils.

The SKA - Ak Bars match will begin at 19.30 local time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. Life78, KHL TV and Match TV will broadcast live, while you can follow events live on our official Twitter account!
