SKA-1946 are in the Kharlamov Cup semi-finals!

In the third round of the MHL playoffs, SKA-1946 have defeated HC CSKA Moscow's youth team Red Army 3:0. SKA vice-president Roman Rotenberg commented on the club's achievement:

- I congratulate SKA-1946 and all Saint Petersburg fans with qualifying for the MHL Kharlamov Cup semi-finals! This is SKA-1946's most successful ever season, and they have done this without first choice players Egor Rykov and Vladimir Barabanov who are currently with the junior Russian national team. Already our MHL team are one of the best four in the league, and that is a huge result for the club.

All of the leading players for SKA-1946 have come through Saint Petersburg's hockey school. Alexander Barabanov, who has already played excellently in the KHL and VHL, is the team's leader, and one of his two goals against Krasnaya Armiya was his 100th in the MHL.

We think that our youth team are capable of aiming even higher. The players are showing a true fighting spirit during these playoffs, and have a huge desire to win. We're not going to stop on making the semi-finals, we will move on and prepare for the next opponents.
