SKA-1946 are the silver medalists of the MHL!

SKA-1946, losing out to HC Chaika Nizhny Novgorod 1:4 in the MHL Kharlamov Cup final, have become the 2015 MHL silver medalists. Today's fifth match finished up 0:2 in Saint Petersburg, as Chaika added to their first period opener with a late empty netter.

The Kharlamov Cup playoffs begun for our youth team against HC Dynamo Saint Petersburg, as in three tightly contested games the players emerged unscathed. Next up were HC MVD, and this time it took four matches for the Muscovites to be disposed of. In the quarter finals SKA-1946 were once again headed for Moscow, with Red Army being the opponents. Despite losing to the same team last year this time our team proved to be much stronger, taking the series 3:0. MHL regular season winners White Bears Chelyabinsk took our SKA-1946 in the semi finals, and were dealt a 3:1 series thrashing.

Our team couldn't repeat similar heroics in the final however, going down to Chaika 1:4. Nevertheless it has been an historic and wonderful campaign for the team, as for the first time ever SKA-1946 are the MHL silver medalists!
