Sibir - SKA. Match day

The first road trip for SKA will begin today in Novosibirsk, as our team begin their tour of Russia's Far East with a tough looking match against last season's Eastern Conference finalists HC Sibir.
Sibir became the most talked about team of the 2014/2015 campaign, as defying all odds they took second place in the Eastern Conference regular season before reaching the KHL Gagarin Cup semi-finals, a run which included knocking out then reigning champions Metallurg Magnitogorsk. The team has changed a bit since then however, and their entire first line left the club during the summer. Key players such as goaltender Alexander Salak and forwards David Ullstrom and Dmitry Monya have stayed put though, and they have had a solid start to the new season. From four matches they have taken a respective seven points having beaten Vityaz 5:1 and HC Slovan Bratislava 3:2, and will be confident coming into their first home game. David Ullstrom and Maxim Shalunov are their top scorers so far, with both tallying up five points (3+2).
It will be our team's second away game of the season, and after a dodgy home series they got back on track with a confident 3:0 beating of HC Severstal Cherepovets. Mikko Koskinen was the star of that win, as he made 18 saves on his way to his first shutout of the season. Defenceman Maxim Chudinov has been in great form of late, taking at least one point from every game played.
The Sibir - SKA match will take place at 16.30 Moscow time inside the Sibir Ice Palace. KHL TV and 100 TV will both broadcast the game live, and you will also be able to keep up to date with events by following our official Twitter page.
