SKA management group for the 2022/2023 season

12 July 2022

The SKA management group for the 2022/2023 season has been formed.

Coaches Sergei Zubov - who previously worked in Saint Petersburg - and Evgeny Koreshkov have joined SKA. Furthermore, Vladimir Yurzinov will work in the management group as an advisor to the head coach.

Valeri Bragin will continue working with SKA as a consultant.

Methodist coach Lars Johansson and goalkeeping coach Marko Torenius are leaving the SKA coaching staff. SKA Hockey Club thanks the pair for their efforts in Saint Petersburg, wishing them luck for the future.

SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg:

- Immediately after the last game of the 2021/2022 campaign, we began analysing the season and our options for strengthening the team. This is a daily job which concerns both the players and the coaches. We have a strong, balanced team which we fully trust. Our coaches have plenty of experience of the NHL and the KHL, we have those who have worked in the decisive stages of the Gagarin Cup and Stanley Cup playoffs. With the arrival of Sergei Zubov and Evgeny Koreshkov, we have completed our forming of the coaching staff.

I also want to thank the vastly experienced Vladimir Yurzinov, who will work with SKA as a consultant. I have no doubt that his great knowledge and experience will help our team in the new season. Of course, as always we have set ourselves the maximum targets, but we are also focusing on the important task of training our youth. It is a priority for SKA and the national team to develop our players. Valeri Bragin is playing an important role in this aspect, he will search for new talents in his consultant role. He is at his best effectively when working with young players.
