Salavat Yulaev - SKA. Match day

26 December 2015

SKA's final match of 2015 will take place today against HC Salavat away in Ufa, the Republic of Bashkortostan capital.

Just like with Metallurg this will not be the first game against each other this month, as a few weeks ago SKA defeated Salavat 5:3 in a tense match in Saint Petersburg. Indeed since that fixture Salavat have been struggling to find consistency, and cannot string two wins together. Four days ago they showed what they are made of defeating HC Dynamo Moscow 2:0 at home, but in their next match they fell to lowly Spartak 1:2 at home. Such results have taken Salavat down to fourth in the Eastern Conference, but they do have games in hand over nearest rivals Avangard and Ak Bars Kazan. Swedish forward Linus Omark has been their leading light this campaign with 44 points (14+30), while six players have 20 points or more. Number one goaltender Niklas Svedberg has a 91.1% saves percentage.

Our team have won nine out of the past ten, and such brilliant form has taken SKA up to fifth of the Western Conference with a game in hand over fourth placed side HC Sochi. This will be the third and final game of this away trip, with the playerrs having lost to Torpedo 5:6 in overtime before defeating Metallurg Magnitogorsk 5:4. Forward Vadim Shipachyov has eleven points from the past five matches (2+9).

The Salavat Yulaev - SKA match will begin at 14.30 Moscow time inside the Ufa Arena, Ufa. Life78 and KHL TV will both broadcast the game live, and you can keep up to date with events by following either our online matchcentre or our official Twitter account.
