Roman Rotenberg: "We need to play for the full 60 minutes"

HC SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg:
- We followed the game plan during the first two periods, but the same can't be said for the third. This is why we have this result. Nevertheless, I would like to thank my players, I don't have any issues with their commitment. I also thank the fans for their support. We will work on our mistakes and prepare for Friday.
- CSKA Moscow always improve in the third periods of games. Why couldn't you cope with this?
- Ice hockey is a game of mistakes. We need to analyse exactly what happened in detail. This is the playoffs, everything is only just starting.
- Zakhar Bardakov is playing in the first line.
- Despite his young age, he is one of our best players. Every player knows that they can play better, but I am satisfied with everyone's commitment. We win and lose together.
- What happened in the third period? SKA competed with the initiative for the majority of the match.
- This is ice hockey. We made mistakes. We dominated during the first two periods, we played really well, but you have to play for the full 60 minutes until the final second. We must improve, we'll be ready for compete for 60 or more minutes. The only way forward is to work hard and correct our mistakes. The fact that we dominated for 40 minutes proves that we're on the right track, but we have to play until the end. We must minimalise our mistakes and score more goals.
- Are you satisfied with Emil Galimov's performances?
- Emil is progressing and is receiving plenty of minutes on the ice, he competes on our powerplay unit. Everything is in his hands, he needs to use his scoring chances. He knows that he can play better.
- Why did Mikko Lehtonen only spend one shift on the ice in the third period?
- This series is full of physical ice hockey against a strong opponent. We will speak with our doctors, we don't yet have any more information.
- How does Artyom Shvets-Rogovoi feel? Are you missing him on the ice?
- We are missing everyone who can't play at the moment. Artyom is a key player for us, but we do have other guys who can replace him. We played well for 40 minutes today, we will try to play well for the entire 60 minutes in the next game. We want to make our supporters happy.
- SKA were focused on controlling the puck. Did that make life more difficult for you in your own zone in the third period?
- We play in accordance with our system. Obviously, our system does not want players to commit individual mistakes. We must remove them from our game. We want to play well for the entire 60 minutes, dominating the match. We will strive to improve all aspects of our play.
