2018 Olympic Games. Czech Republic - Olympic Athletes from Russia - 0:3

23 February 2018

In the 2018 Olympic Games semi-final, the male Olympic Athletes from Russia team faced off against the Czech Republic. Head coach Oleg Znarok didn't make any changes to the line-up after beating Norway 6:1 in the previous stage, keeping Vasily Koshechkin in net and Ilya Kovalchuk, Sergei Andronov and Sergei Kalinin in the first line together.

After a tight first period, the match burst into life in the second. SKA's Nikita Gusev broke the deadlock seven minutes after the restart, before club teammate Vladislav Gavrikov doubled the advantage just seconds later. The Czechs pushed hard in the third frame, but when goaltender Pavel Francouz was pulled in the dying minutes, our Ilya Kovalchuk hit the empty net to seal the 3:0 victory!

In the final, our players will take on either Canada or Germany. The match will take place on February 25.
