Neftekhimik - SKA. Match day

SKA will play this second match of this KHL away series against HC Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk.

Our team began the road trip with a tough test with Lada Tolyatti, beating the opponents 3:2 in overtime. It will be another difficult match today against Neftekhimik, a team battling for a playoff spot. The Tatarstan outfit occupy eleventh place in the Eastern Conference with 55 points, and having lost their previous three games to CSKA (1:3), Admiral (5:7) and Ak Bars Kazan (1:2), they will come out hard in this one. American forward Dan Sexton is their top scorer on 40 points (12+28), while first choice goaltender Ville Kolppanen boasts a 91.7 saves percentage.

Getting the better of Lada on Friday, SKA have hit the 100 point mark after just 40 games. Finn Mikko Koskinen made his long awaited return between the pipes in that game, stopping 18 of 20 shots. The line of Evgeny Dadonov, Vadim Shipachyov and Nikita Gusev netted all three goals.

These two teams have already met this campaign, as SKA defeated Neftekhimik 5:1 in Saint Petersburg.

The SKA - Neftekhimik match will begin at 19.30 local time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. Life78 and KHL TV HD will broadcast live, while you can keep up to date with events on our official Twitter account.
