Medvescak - SKA. Match day

After playing four home matches in a row, SKA have made the trip to Croatia ahead of today's match against HC Medvescak Zagreb.

Having joined the KHL a few years ago, Medvescak have become an awkward opponent for nearly all of the competition's teams. Their hard hitting, North American style of game makes life difficult and with passionate support in Zagreb, visiting clubs know that they aren't in for an easy ride. However, Medvescak have struggled at times during this campaign, only occupying 12th place in the Western Conference. They will be high on confidence coming into this one though, as they are coming off the back of two big wins against Salavat Yulaev (5:4 SO) and Slovan Bratislava (6:0).

As well documented, Medvescak's side is largely made up of American and Canadian players. Danny Taylor is their usual number one goaltender, and forward Gilbert Brule is their top scorer with nine points to his name (5+4).

SKA won all four home games in a row, the latest being a 3:0 triumph against HC Kunlun Red Star Beijing. Igor Shestyorkin racked up his second shutout of the season in that match.

The Medvescak - SKA match will begin at 18.00 Moscow time in Zagreb, Croatia. Life78 will broadcast live, while you can follow events on our official Twitter account!
