Maxim Karpov: "We needed strong motivation"

- How did you prepare for SKA's 700th match in the KHL?

- I didn't know that fact. At the moment, Sibir have problems. As a result of not winning, they had strong motivation, so we had to try even harder.

- Pavel Datsyuk and Nikita Gusev really wanted you to score.

- Yes, the guys did a great job. They put together a fantastic combination play and I only had to hit the net.

- Did anything go wrong in this match against Sibir Novosibirsk?

- It's hard to say right now.

- Vladislav Syomin continues taking penalties when entering the action.

- Probably, he really wants to play so he contrives to earn penalties. He needs to be calmer.

- Are you all thinking about playing Avangard Omsk?

- Let's have a good night's sleep first.
