Yugra - SKA. Match day

Today on the 21st of September, SKA will finish this KHL away series with a match against HC Yugra in Khanty-Mansiysk.

The players fell to Avtomobilist 2:3 on penalty shots a few days ago, and will be hoping to head home to Saint Petersburg with three more points in the bag. Nevertheless, it won't be an easy task against Yugra, and the Khanty-Mansiysk outfit have been much improved this season. After a 7:1 defeat to Sibir, they did fire head coach Pavel Ezovskikh, but they have recovered well to occupy sixth place in the Eastern Conference table. They have won two out of their last three games against Severstal 2:1 and Metallurg Novokuznetsk 1:0, and those victories have enabled them to climb the standings.

Yugra forwards Pavel Varfolomeev, Pavel Medvedev and Denis Gorbunov all have six points to their name, while ex Dynamo Moscow goaltender Alexander Sharychenkov has impressed at times with a 92.3% saves percentage. Arseniy Khatsey, who played one game for SKA's main team last season, is also among their ranks.

Despite SKA's shootout loss in Yekaterinburg, the team is still in second of the Western Conference with two games in hand over first place CSKA. Alexander Barabanov is the team's top scorer.

The Yugra - SKA match will begin at 17.00 Moscow time. Life78 and KHL TV will broadcast live, and you can follow events on our official Twitter account.
