Alexei Melnichuk: "I am happy that I made my debut"

- I am pleased that we won. The team helped me, they allowed me to feel my way in the game. At the pre-game skate, they shot the puck into my glove. When you save shots against players who have done everything in the game, you immediately feel confident.

- Can you compare this to the VHL?

- It's different ice hockey. When 12 thousand people come to the stadium, you feel emotions which are undescribable. It's really nice to play here.

- When were you told about playing in this game?

- I found out after the last match in Canada. I was told to acclimitaize and prepare for this game, because I'll be given an opportunity to play.

- What was the best advice you received?

- Everyone said something, starting from the coaches down to the players. All advice helps.

- Generally, skaters take the puck when making their debuts. What do goalkeepers do?

- Goaltenders usually take the puck after earning a shutout. I am happy that I made my debut. I made mistakes, luck was on my side too, and Ugra hit the post. The main thing is that we won.

- Would you like to dedicate this achievement to someone?

- Yes, of course. Recently, there was a car accident in my family. I dedicate this to those who aren't next to me now.
