Igor Larionov speaks after beating the Dragons at the SKA Arena

HC SKA head coach Igor Larionov:

"It's always difficult playing against these opponents. The first period was challenging, after our initial positive start we allowed Shanghai to dominate. The second and third periods were solid, we began to play rationally and in the right way. This consequently paved the way for us to emerge victorious."

Nikolai Goldobin's winning goal...

"On one hand, you want to keep it simple, but on the other, if you don't try and be creative you won't win anything. We don't have any restrictions when it comes to creativity, and Nikolai is one of our best players - if not the best - in this regard."

SKA's lack of consistency...

"To be honest, this isn't worrying me. We live in an era when it's not possible for one single team to dominate and win every game. If you lose focus and begin to take penalties, it has an effect on the entire team. Yes, there are moments which aren't nice for us as coaches, but ice hockey is a game and we want to give the fans excitement.

"Talent involves making the right decisions! Just look at the second goal which we conceded, which was poor from our point of view. We don't want to continue giving our opponents easy goals."

Transfer rumours...

"I don't want to speculate. As far as I know, we aren't planning to make any trades before the window closes. We're playing with the players available to us, and it's pleasing that our injured guys are gradually beginning to return."
