Igor Larionov speaks after playing Spartak in Moscow

HC SKA head coach Igor Larionov:
"First of all, I would like to congratulate the opponents with their victory. It was a difficult match, but it could have gone either way until we committed our mistakes. Of course, our penalties also took their toll. Either a lack of discipline or concentration resulted in us taking penalties all of the time."
Why SKA took several penalties in the third period...
"When taking to the ice, the players should realise the responsibility which they're carrying and that such games are emotional. Until we conceded the two goals in the closing stages of the second stanza, we had performed well. It's an issue of discipline. In the dressing room, I told the players that everyone needs to take a long look at themselves. As coaches, we will try to ensure that we will play with discipline and compete in the correct manner."
Why Nikolai Goldobin only played eight minutes against his former team...
"Everyone is different, no one is the same. Some players, unlike those who are physical, use their intelligence. I'll put it like this: in modern ice hockey, if you don't play with heart or fire, your talent won't allow you to take the next step. Yes, maybe you'll have some personal achievements, when it comes to winning as a team, overcoming hurdles and helping the different ways; I just don't seen those qualities."
