Igor Larionov speaks after playing Sochi away

HC SKA head coach Igor Larionov:
"Congratulations to Sochi for their win, and a Happy New Year to their fans. This was our lowest point in terms of our performance level. And, the most disappointing thing is that Sochi wanted it more than us. However, now we have to produce a response against Shanghai on Tuesday. Having fallen so low, we now have to pick ourselves up and play good ice hockey."
Pavel Dedunov and Nikolai Polyakov being ex-SKA players...
"When you've been traded to a different team, you always want to prove your worth when competing against your former employers. To be honest, I didn't even know that those players represented SKA last season. We have to cope with the challenges which all teams provide us with. Sadly, today we didn't cope with the challenge."
If rumours affected the team today...
"I don't pay too much attention to what is written in the press. We win as a team and lose as a team. When we defeated Minsk on Friday, I warned the guys about us having flown too high. Today, on the other hand, we fell too low. Right now, the only thing which matters is seeing how the players react to this result in our next game."
Conceding eight goals...
"We can't concede eight goals. It's too much for SKA."
